It's been about 1 year since I received my SS Tiger and I'm still enjoying it. I've had to rebuild quite a bit of it because there's so much plastic on metal (or vice-versa) in the drivetrain and that tends to break or crack load points. The Tamiya tanks have metal hulls and metal axles, metal drive and idler wheels with metal tracks, and I think they also have metal gears - this means all the drivetrain stress is handled by metal on metal. Be prepared to do all the rebuild work that I've had to do on the drivetrain if you do even the most basic of operations over time. It's definitely a labor of love but it can be really frustrating if you want to drive and just can't.
For better accuracy, I also rearranged the antenna to the loader side from the rear deck and also rearranged the pistol port. I flipped the main gun mantlet around too and repositioned the commander's cupola - easy to find the right representations online and interesting to rework if you have the precision tools and a bit of mechanical aptitude. My next project is to fix the main gun look - it appears to be stuck in recoil and must be extended. There are aftermarket fixes for this that I will probably use instead of working my own fix from wood or scrap plastic. You learn a lot about the Tiger I if you want to make this tank look right, and you learn a lot about RC tanks if you want to make this tank work right. But be prepared to be a tank mechanic and mechanical improviser if you want to keep this beautiful beast working well.
